In 2016–17, this all started with a series of articles covering food security, data innovations, meat free markets and general innovation in science and tech for The Conversation. It sparked a wave of over half a million readers and widespread syndication across major global media outlets, so it clearly resonated with readers out there. The catalyst in all this was my book which had just been published, Global Food Security and Supply (Wiley 2016) and it laid the foundation for everything that followed. I am not writing as much as back then but still mentor researchers who do write great things, which is often a case of crystallising their realisation that nothing is too complex if you are asking the right questions and can draw a correct graph. After spinning out MPCR GreenEye, I'm still in the North, on holiday when I can, walking my dogs every day and getting the logs in for winter.
